Winter Landscape in Pastel and Watercolor with Dannielle Mick
Sunday – December 4, 2022 10:00 – 3:00
Instructor: Dannielle Mick
This workshop will combine 2 very compatible media. The pastel and watercolor student will learn the different techniques of watercolor application. How much water that is desired to get different effects will be covered and is most important.
The pastelist will then lay the pastels over the watercolor painting letting some of the watercolor come through for a rich surface color.
This workshop for both media will explore background washes, color contrasts and complements, light and dark emphasis, masking, foreground and background structure, overall composition.
Also we will touch on color mixing, blocking and layering of colors to achieve balance and simplicity in the values and colors of the winter landscape.
Students will work from photo reference that I supply. This workshop is open to all skill levels.
Demonstrations and class critique will round out this informative workshop.
