Value Workshop with Artist Lucy Kalian
coming soon
“Value is the most important aspect of color theory and painting. The function of Value is to tell us how light or how dark a given color is. Value relationships among colors are critical in perceiving form. So understanding and training one’s eye to “see” value is an essential discipline in painting!” Tony Curanaj - artist and teacher
Each day, Lucy kalian will lecture briefly and give demonstrations when relevant. On day one, each student will mix a string of values from one (black) to ten (white). With a string of mixed neutral values, students will then make value paintings of various objects. The focus will be on building visual sensitivity to the values found in all forms, whether neutral or chromatic.
