Sunday, July 16, 2023 10am - 3pm
Instructor: Dannielle Mick
The Golden Hour is the time of day when the sun is closest to the horizon line and takes on a warm glow. In this workshop we will work from photographs and learn to capture the late day light with color. Simplification using basic shapes to capture the movement of breaking waves.
You’ll learn about the different qualities of the water, transparency and opaqueness, as it relates to the structure of waves and the light source. Exploration of when to use hard verses soft pastels will be covered as well as a watercolor underpainting.
Each student will complete one or two pieces. Demonstrations and class critique will round out this informative workshop.
Materials not included.
Supplies required. (If the student is working in only pastel the pastelmat in anthracite would be my suggested color surface.)
