Atmospheric Perspective in Pastels and Watercolor, Instructor Dannielle Mick
Sunday – September 17, 2023 10:00 – 3:00
The natural beauty of clouds has long been the subject that artists and painters have tried to capture for centuries. These massive shapes suspended in the sky.
They come in many patterns and forms. In this workshop learn how to capture the breadth of textures and colors seen in a range of cloud scapes. This workshop will cover how to create convincing depth, atmosphere and three dimensional shapes through mark making and layering.
This workshop gives you several options. You can use the pastel or watercolor separately or you can combine two very compatible media. The pastel and watercolor student will learn the different techniques of watercolor application.
How much water that is desired to get different effects will be covered and is most important.
The pastelist will then lay the pastels over the watercolor painting letting some of the watercolor come through for a rich surface color.
Students will work from photo reference that I supply. This workshop is open to all skill levels.
Demonstrations and class critique will round out this informative workshop.
All Colorest students receive a 20% discount on class materials. Supplies required. (If the student is working in only pastel the pastelmat in anthracite would be my suggested color surface.)
